Conference Overview

The University of Houston and the World Chamber of Commerce in Texas with support of  the Mayor’s Office have organized the first conference on the Globalization of Higher Education in Houston. The conference will bring together the Houston business community, the City of Houston, and local institutions of higher education to start an on-going and open discussion about the state of global higher education in Houston and the United States.

Houston is a cosmopolitan city home to several vibrant universities and colleges. Among them the University of Houston championed by Forbes as the second most diverse campus in the United States. The University of Houston is positioned to become a flagship university of global higher education in Texas and agreed to be the inaugural sponsoring-host of the conference.

This conference will be the first in an annual series to provide insights into the pressing global issues, trends, and necessary actions to create the framework for Houston to become a hub for international education in Texas, the U.S., and the world.

A renown global education expert will provide the keynote address building on the themes of the opening plenary session. The latter portion of the conference will include panel discussions and an open forum designed to lay a foundation for a shared city-wide, cross-industry action plan. The goal will be to attract international college students to study in Houston and for local high school graduates to consider staying in Houston to study at one of the city’s dynamic global institutions.

The conference themes and topics will range from campus globalization best practices to engagement with the local international communities that create a symbiotic win-win relationship between industry and education in Houston.

We hope that you will join us by becoming a sponsor and contributing to this exciting initiative. Please take a moment to review the sponsorship levels below.
